During Game 2 of the Western Conference semifinals between Memphis Grizzlies and Golden State Warriors, Draymond Green was forced to leave the game during the first half. Contrary to the last time these two teams played when Green was ejected from the game, Memphis players started playing dirty against the Warriors.

Knowing that Golden State is probably one of the most unplayable teams in the entire Playoffs, these Grizzlies won’t hesitate to take any measure in order to win the second game of the series. So far, they are succeeding but barely. Getting Draymond Green momentarily taken off the game doesn’t appear to be working. But what happened to him?

Green gets an elbow straight to the face.

During the first half of the game, Grizzlies proved they are playing dirty as Dillion Brooks committed a fould on Gary Payton II that got him straight to the MRI room. Brooks was ejected from the game. Moments after that, Xavier Tillman took his elbow straight to Draymond Green’s face and got him an instantly swollen right eye.

After a few moments with the medical team, Green needed to leave the court in order to take better care of that injury. Coach Steve Kerr wasn’t happy about these actions as he clearly told the press Memphis was playing dirty. Fortunatey, Green returned to the game in the third quarter but his eye was clearly still swollen.

As he left the court, the Golden State Warriors veteran wasn’t happy with the Memphis Grizzlies fans as they shouted insults at him. There’s a clear image in which he flips all of them as he left the court, he will likely get fined for this as the NBA usually doesn’t take offense against the fans very well.

But what matters is that Green has returned to the game despite getting that straight knock to the face. Memphis kept a slight advantage in the third quarter but Golden State is a competitive side that won’t get easily intimidated. Having Green on the court is massive for the Warriors, he is one of their most valuable defensive players.
