Errol “The Truth” Spence Jr. (28-0, 22 KOs) defeated Yordenis Ugas (27-5, 12 KOs) Saturday night at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas as the ringside doctor advised referee Laurence Cole to stop the fight at 1:44 of Round 10.

With the victory, Spence Jr. unified his WBC and IBF titles with Ugas’ WBA welterweight title. Spence Jr. now wants to fight Terence Crawford for a shot at his WBO title and the opportunity to become the undisputed 147-pound champion.

Ugas throws cheap shots at Spence Jr.

After a couple of cheap shots by Ugas in Round 6 when Spence Jr. was distracted looking for his mouthpiece that went flying after a brutal right hand from the Cuban, The Truth came back with more aggression. Spence was fighting in front of his hometown crowd and would go on to surgically dispense a beating on Ugas that would lead to a Round 10 stoppage due to the Cuban’s right eye closing.

Spence landed 216 of his 784 thrown punches and 476 were power punches. Ugas, meanwhile, only landed 96 of 541 total thrown punches, and 262 of those were jabs.
