A video has gone viral on social media showing UFC star Conor McGregor being chased by police in the United Kingdom before he was pulled over, arrested and released on bail shortly after.

According to the police, the 33-year-old athlete was arrested for dangerous driving and must appear before the Blanchardstown court in the coming weeks.

“Gardai arrested a man aged in his 30s in relation to an incident of dangerous driving in the Palmerstown area yesterday evening, Tuesday 22nd March 2022,” read the police statement.

“The man was taken to Lucan Garda Station, where he was later charged.

“He has been released pending an appearance before Blanchardstown District Court at a later date.”

In the event he is found guilty, Conor McGregor would face a maximum sentence of six months in jail and a fine of 4,100 pounds.

McGregor’s convictions

The Irish MMA fighter has as many as 18 convictions to his name. Some of them are driving-related, while he was also accused of punching and breaking the nose of an Italian DJ in Rome after a christening.
