FC Dallas defeated Los Angeles FC on Saturday night at Toyota Stadium thanks to a couple of defensive blunders that Jesus Ferreira took advantage of to complete the epic comeback.

The match started extremely physical and both sides were taking hard fouls, which led to LAFC defender Ryan Hollingshead getting a red card 13 minutes into the night.

Despite the numerical superiority, Dallas was unable to hurt the visitors in the first half.

Instead, the home team went down a goal when Cristian Arango flawlessly finished over the keeper off an exquisite assist from Giorgio Chiellini.

Arango scored his 16th goal of the season in the dying moments of the opening half to head into the break with the lead.

Gareth Bale replaces Carlos Vela

Fifteen minutes into the closing half, LAFC head coach Steve Cherundolo replaced Carlos Vela and Arango with Gareth Bale and Kwadwo Opoku.

Neither Bale nor Opoku managed to generate a single dangerous chance prior to Ferreira scoring the equalizer in minute 78.

The first goal by Ferreira ocurred after Franco Esobar fouled Marco Farfan on the left wing.

Instead of getting right back on defense, Escobar started complaining to the red and Farfan quickly gave Ferreira the assist for the goal as LAFC defenders were still trying to adjust.

Ferreira secures FC Dallas win over LAFC

A couple of minutes after scoring his 17th goal of the season, Ferreira added one more to his tally.

The goal came on another set piece that Ferreira took and kicked past the wall to beat goalkeeper Maxime Crepeau.

New LAFC signing Cristian Tello did not make his debut but could see playing time Tuesday against Minnesota United.

FC Dallas, meanwhile, clinched the third spot in the Western Conference and will look to build a three-game win streak next week against the San Jose Earthquakes.
