Lionel Messi missed out on the Reims clash, with Neymar starting on the bench and Paris Saint-Germain failed to grab a win on Saturday in a game that ended in a goalless draw.

After the match at Reims, Mbappe took to social media to post a picture of himself along with a message which could refer to Christophe Galtier‘s tactics.

“Tie #thisisparis #pivotgang,” wrote Mbappe, with the second hashtag sparking controversy in France.

According to French media, the hashtag #pivotgang may be referring to the fact that Galtier played Mbappe as a lone striker against Reims. The Frenchman had previously stressed that he prefers to play behind a striker up front.

“I play differently with France,” Mbappe said.

Fed up Mbappe posts a controversial comment on social media... against Galtier?

“They ask me to do different things here than [what I am asked to do] at PSG. Here I have a lot more freedom.

“The coach knows that we have [Olivier] Giroud as a striker who occupies defenses and I can go into space. At PSG it’s different, that doesn’t exist. They ask me to play as a pivot and it’s different.”

Since the beginning of this season, the tense relationship between Mbappe and Neymar has been brought into spotlight. French media have reported that the two men do not get along, something that generates conflicts in the dressing room.
