Iyanna Mayweather, daughter of former boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. has managed to avoid prison after pleading guilty to stabbing a woman at the home of rapper YoungBoy in 2020, who was her partner at the time.

The eldest daughter of the legendary pugilist was arrested in April 2020 in Houston, Texas, when she was 19 years old, after stabbing a woman, an incident that came from a sentimental conflict. The young woman arrived at the artist’s house and found him in the company of Lapattra Lashai Jacobs. After a fierce argument between the two in the kitchen, the stabbing took place.

Now Iyanna, 22, has pleaded guilty and has been sentenced to six years probation. Provided she stays out of trouble, the crime would be expunged from her record in two years, having not been deemed ‘serious’.

“Although we believe Iyanna acted in self-defense after being attacked, we felt this was the safest resolution for her,” her attorney Ken Schaffer stated following his client’s guilty plea.

As part of the plea agreement, she will avoid prison.

A deferred adjudication is a special form of judge-ordered probation that allows Iyanna to accept responsibility for a crime without an actual conviction placed on record. Under her sentence, Iyanna will need to abide by the following:

Cannot commit any offenses

Cannot use or possess any illegal drug or prescription drugs that are not currently prescribed by a medical professional

Report to supervising officer

Work a suitable employment and/or attend school full-time

Remain within Harris County or any counties directly touching Harris County, and cannot travel outside the location unless given permission
