Former NFL star Olin Kreutz has been fired by media startup CHGO Sports for attacking a co-worker.

Kreutz, who played for the Chicago Bears for 13 years, featuring in six Pro Bowls, is believed to have grabbed a colleague by the neck after not taking kindly to a remark made.

Adam Hoge, the victim, is a podcaster at CHGO and was not seriously harmed and chose not to press charges.

CHGO, however, acted swiftly to dismiss Kreutz with immediate effect, displaying zero tolerance for violence in the world place.

“On Monday morning, an incident occurred in which Olin Kreutz physically attacked a CHGO employee,” read a CHGO statement.

“Effective immediately, Olin Kreutz is no longer with CHGO. Although we were shocked by the incident, we are thankful that the employee is okay.

“The health and safety of our employees is of the utmost importance and we will not tolerate any action that puts that in jeopardy.”

Kreutz responded to the news and statement by tweeting an image containing a quote attributed to former boxer Mike Tyson.

“Social media made y’all way too comfortable with disrespecting people and not getting punched in the face for it,” said the quote.

Kreutz has previous for assaulting colleagues as he broke teammate Fred Miller‘s jaw in 2005.
