PSG coach Christophe Galtier said he had not spoken to Kylian Mbappe about the rumours of his departure, but said he had seen no let-up in his commitment.

In a tense press conference ahead of Sunday’s game against Marseille, Galtier denied that the atmosphere is negative in the PSG dressing room and accused the media of misrepresentation.

“Whatever I say, you never believe me, you write the opposite of what I say. I tell you that everything is going well, that they are in solidarity and you say the opposite. I’m not here to comment on rumours,” he said.

“Of course we don’t kiss every day in the dressing room, it’s normal, but I can tell you that this atmosphere is much better than in other places and that it’s better than what you say and can imagine.”

On the rumour of Mbappe’s departure published on Tuesday, hours before the match against Benfica in the Champions League, Galtier declined to comment and said that the striker “had the best response”, as he was voted man of the match in the 1-1 draw.

“I have a lot of faults, but I’m very honest, I don’t lie. As for Kylian, I haven’t spoken to him about the rumour, but I’ve seen him very committed in his preparation and serious in his attitude,” he said.
