September 17, 2022 can come soon enough as we will see Saul “Canelo” Alvarez fight Gennady Golovkin for the third time after their 2017 and 2018 bouts.
The two previous fights have been really close and many of the fans of both fighters think they’ve won both bouts.
In 2017 the result was a draw, while one year later Canelo would be favored with a majority decision.
What did Golovkin say about Canelo?
Golovkin said he was dissapointed at Canelo for the way he had handled his defeat against Dmitry Bivol, questioning his reaction while using the opportunity to congratulate Bivol on his victory.
“”How can you react like that? How can you believe that you won the fight with the loss of just one or two rounds? How can you say that when a lot of people follow you, a lot of people take interest in you. That’s just not fair”, he told Fansided.
Why do both fighters seem to dislike each other?
Let’s remember that the mexican fighter had a failed drug test before their second fight, as clenbuterol was found in his blood.
While his camp attributed this to tainted meat, a known public health issue in Mexico, Golovkin’s camp was always critical of this issue.
Canelo recently declared to TMZ that GGG is an a**hole in another tense camp previous to a fight between the two.
