Aston Villa coach Steven Gerrard has imposed a set of strict rules that his players must follow if they are to avoid receiving a fine.

A leak has listed the rules out on internet, with the ex-Liverpool midfielder imposing some very heavy fines.

For example, arriving late to training incurs a fine of fine of 500 pounds (around 594 euros). Similarly, arriving late to training camp or a meeting will mean paying 200 pounds (237 euros) per minute.

Should this delay occur on a matchday, the amount jumps to a fixed rate of 1,000 pounds (1,188 euros).

Gerrard’s birthday cake rule

One of the more bizarre rules Gerrard has implemented is the birthday cake rule that sees players slapped with a fine of 50 pounds (59 euros) for forgetting to bring a birthday cake.

Another rule that jumps out is the shower rule. With this one, getting into the shower barefoot will incur a fine of 100 pounds (119 euros), with players forced to wear flip-flops.

Disorderly players under the microscope

Gerrard has also prioritised discipline in his Aston Villa dressing room with the coach implementing some strict fines for disorderly conduct.

If a player is given a yellow card for protesting, the penalty is 200 pounds. However, if a player were to receive a red card the penalty entails taking the entire squad out for dinner for the four weeks that the player is suspended for.

Continuing in the same vein if a player does not pick up a piece of training gear or the cutlery and plates from the table after eating they will have to pay 100 pounds for each infringement.

The same fine is also applicable for parking violations.

Dressing badly

Violating Gerrard‘s dress code could result in a penalty of another 100 pounds per inappropriate garment.

However, the other strange rule sees players have to wear a jersey with the slogan ‘I was the worst in training’ if they are the worst player in training before a game.
