Gennady Golovkin beat Ryota Murata in Japanese territory. Golovkin won the fight by KO, adding 37 victories by KO.

According to reports, after the victory, Golovkin is waiting for his next fight. The Kazakhstani boxer aims for the Canelo-Bivol encounter in Las Vegas.

Before the combat, Golovkin’s inactivity lowered the expectations of boxing critics and fans.

GGG didn’t perform in the ring for more than a year and a half. Meanwhile, the London 2012 Olympic champion Ryota Murata was absent from official boxing combat since 2019.

Golovkin dominated Murata from the beginning:

The Japanese boxer had a brave strategy in punishing Golovkin. Ryota demanded the Kazakhstani fighter, the local fighter tried to impose his style before the ring of the bell.

Gennady Golovkin has 42 victories, 37 from KO, one draw, and one defeat. Golovkin accumulated his draw and defeat against Saul Canelo Alvarez.

In an interview with ESPN, Golovkin took some shots at Canelo. However, he insisted that for him, it’s not personal.

Canelo is the strongest athlete and boxer I have faced. I thought I won the first two, so winning the third one would be the same to me. Nothing would change for me,” Golovkin said.

“A lot of people from around the world watched them. The fans know what to expect, and I think they want to see more of what we gave them the first two times.”
