The Memphis Grizzlies hit rock bottom and bounced back in Game 3 by coming from 26 points down to regain home-court advantage in the Western Conference first-round series with a 104-95 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Twin Cities on Thursday night.

Desmond Bane, with the home recipe, led a Memphis attack by hitting seven three-pointers out of 15 attempts and accumulating 26 points to wake up an offense that had only generated 67 points in the first three quarters to explode with 37 in the fourth period alone.

Memphis’ biggest comeback in playoffs

Memphis’ comeback was the biggest in the history of this long-suffering franchise and despite posting a triple-double, it was overall a quiet evening for Grizzlies star player Ja Morant, who racked up 16 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.

The Timberwolves’ biggest lead came in the second quarter, when they held a 47-21 advantage, however, from there came a run of 15 unanswered Memphis points in the final 5:45 minutes of the first half.

Memphis took the lead until the last period with a three-pointer by Tyus Jones, whose former team was precisely Minnesota, his home state and who then put the score 86-85, the Grizzlies never lost that lead.

Minnesota’s offensive crisis

Minnesota’s offense, which was the best during the regular season, dried up for the second game in a row, as it scored a minimum of 30 shots from the field in Game 2, and only hit 33 in Game 3, they had never made so few during the regular season.

The Timberwolves’ leading scorer was D’Angelo Russell with 22 points, while Karl-Anthony Towns completely disappeared with only eight units.
