The news that Kylian Mbappe wants to leave Paris Saint-Germain has sent shockwaves across European football.

After renewing his contract with PSG and turning down Real Madrid‘s offer last summer, it was believed that the Frenchman was going to mark an era in Paris. Yet, everything seems to have blown up.

Mbappe believes that the promises he was given have not been fulfilled and his relationship with some teammates has been the last straw.

He is now willing to depart PSG, but a move to Real Madrid appeared to be almost impossible due to various factors, including the poor relationship between the two parties.

However, journalist Jan Aage Fjortoft is adamant that Mbappe will become a Real Madrid player next year.

“Like I have said for a long time, after the World Cup Mbappe will join Real Madrid either in the first or the second transfer window,” Fjortoft posted on Twitter.

“My tip is that that deal is already signed and locked up someway.”

Real Madrid or Liverpool

While a move to Real Madrid might be more complicated given the breakdown in relations between PSG and Los Blancos, if the French side are willing to negotiate then a deal could be done.

Real Madrid though, are less interested in signing Mbappe given the structure of the team and the form of players like Vinicius, Rodrygo and Benzema.

Liverpool on the other hand, have held a long standing interest in Mbappe, and could well make a move for the player.

PSG would be more interested in selling the Frenchman to Liverpool, with Mohamed Salah potentially being included in the deal as makeweight.
