UFC women’s bantamweight world number two ranked American Holly Holm and 135-pound world number five ranked Brazilian Ketlen Vieira both met the scales on Friday and are set to headline UFC Vegas 55, which will take place this Saturday, May 21, at UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Holm, who is known as “The Preacher’s Daughter” and is 40 years old, enters the fight with a record of 14-5 with 8 knockouts. The American veteran stopped the scales at 135.5 pounds.

Vieira, who is known as “Fenômeno” and is 30 years old, enters the fight with a record of 12-2 with 2 knockouts and 4 submissions.

The Brazilian scored 136 pounds on the scales, making the fight official and valid for the women’s bantamweight division.

The fight between Holm and Vieira would be an important step towards being the next title challenger. The winner could be facing the winner of the fight between the current women’s bantamweight world champion, the American with Venezuelan roots Julianna Pena and Brazilian Amanda Nunes, in a fight that will be a rematch and will take place on July 30, 2022 at UFC 277, pending official confirmation.

The UFC Vegas 55 card will have as co-main event the Argentinian Santiago Ponzinibbio, who weighed 170.5 pounds and will face the Brazilian Michel Pereira, who weighed 170 pounds to make his welterweight division fight valid.

In addition, American prospect Chase Hooper, at 145 pounds, will have a tough test when he faces Brazilian Felipe Colares, who also registered 145 pounds to make the featherweight division fight official, while Venezuelan Omar Morales will be returning to the division where he is undefeated, the lightweight, weighing 155.5 pounds and will face Serbian Uros Medic who weighed 156 pounds.
