There seems to be a lot of buzz surrounding superstar running back Derrick Henry as he approaches free agency. At 30 years old, Henry is finishing up his contract with the Tennessee Titans and is reportedly ready for a fresh start. Despite his age, Henry has proven that he still has plenty of gas left in the tank after a strong season, racking up 1,167 yards and 12 touchdowns. It’s no surprise that he’s expected to attract a lot of attention in the open market.

According to the ML Football X/Twitter account, there is “mutual interest” between Henry and the Dallas Cowboys. In an interview on the “Bussin’ With The Boys” podcast, Henry expressed his desire to win a championship. This aligns with his aspirations for the future, making it clear that he’s looking for a team that can offer him a shot at a title.

Henry’s name was frequently brought up in trade rumors leading up to the recent season’s trade deadline. Despite the Titans being far from playoff contention, they opted to hold on to him. Now, as he heads into free agency, it seems likely that the Titans will lose the 2020 Offensive Player of the Year without gaining anything in return.

The Cowboys could be a suitable landing spot for Henry, especially considering that their lead running back, Tony Pollard, is also set to become a free agent. After another disappointing early postseason exit, this time at the hands of the Green Bay Packers, Dallas will likely be looking to make some changes.

Henry currently leads all active running backs in the NFL

In terms of Henry’s performance, he currently leads all active running backs in rushing yards with an impressive 9,502. Ezekiel Elliott, who is also set to become a free agent, follows closely behind with 8,904 rushing yards. Additionally, Henry’s 90 rushing touchdowns stand out as the most among active running backs by a significant margin.

Amidst all the speculation, it’s clear that Henry’s future is generating a lot of interest and excitement. As he explores his options in free agency, it will be intriguing to see where he ultimately lands and how his career unfolds from here.
