Philadelphia 76ers guard, James Harden will miss around four weeks due to a right foot tendon strain, according to reports by the Associated Press, who got an anonymous source close to the team.
The injury occured during the Sixers loss to the Washington Wizards on Monday while the star player drove to the basket and was slow to get up, despite that he managed to score 24 points in the game.
The next game for Philadelphia is Friday against the New York Knicks at home.
Injuries have limited the Sixers this season
Head coach Doc Rivers has had to deal with injuries to some of his key players like James Harden and Joel Embiid, the current NBA scoring champion, who has missed some time with an illness and the team didn’t want him getting anyone else sick in the locker room.
Embiid has missed three games so far but has averaged 27.2 points and 9.5 rebounds in the six games he’s played this season.
James Harden looks to go back to his best form
James Harden is alongside Michael Jordan the only player to ever average over 20 points, eight assists, five rebounds and 1.7 steals in one season and he managed to do it in the 2017-2018 season, when he got the MVP award.
Harden is in danger of missing the November 22 game at Wells Fargo Center against the Brooklyn Nets, the team he was traded from in exchange for Ben Simmons.
Harden is a seven-time All-NBA player.
