At the NBA trade deadline, the Philadelhpia 76ers reached an agreement with the Brooklyn Nets to essentially trade James Harden for Ben Simmons.

James Harden and Ben Simmons, a trade that didn’t work out

When the Nets were swept by the Boston Celtics in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs, there was no shortage of criticism for the Australian point guard for not seeing a single minute of action for his new team, now that the “City of Brotherly Love” has been eliminated by the Miami Heat in the Semifinal series, it is time to talk about the disappointment of “The Beard”.

Harden’s ineffectiveness reached its peak on Thursday night in Philadelphia’s 99-90 home loss, as the 10-time All-Star had a second half that, even if he wanted to, he will never forget.

James Harden, completely missing

After scoring 11 points in the first half and hitting four of seven shots from the field, Harden simply disappeared when the team needed him the most, as he went scoreless in the second half, did not score a single point and missed the two field goals he attempted, both three-pointers, being booed by the Wells Fargo Center attendees.

However, Harden was not very concerned about it, his response to reporters after the game was as cold as his level of play.

James Harden’s words

“We ran our offense, and the ball didn’t get back to me,” Harden said.

Joel Embiid was upset after not receiving the NBA Most Valuable Player award that went to Denver Nuggets’ Serbian Nikola Jokic, although perhaps, inside the locker room, he may be more upset with his teammate’s lack of level, for coach Doc Rivers, there was little to add on the matter.

“We win and lose as a team,” Rivers said.
