After analyzing what may have caused the automobile accident in which Arizona Cardinals cornerback Jeff Gladney lost his life, authorities revealed new information.
Speeding
First, the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department announced that the accident occurred on the Woodall Rodgers Freeway early Monday morning.
Also, a 26-year-old Hispanic woman named Mercedes Andrea Palacios, who is said to be the soccer player’s girlfriend, was killed at the scene.
Another important piece of information is that the elements of the police force that went to the site to verify the facts determined that the vehicle where the couple was traveling, a white pickup truck, overturned against a retaining fence after impacting behind a second car around 2:30 AM.

Gladney is survived by a son
Although the speed at which Jeff Gladney was driving is unknown, police stressed that he was going “at a high rate of speed when he crashed.”
On the other hand, it is mentioned that the occupants of the second car involved in the mishap were unharmed.
So far, and pending the results of the autopsy, it is not known whether Gladney and his girlfriend had consumed any type of intoxicating beverage or drug that caused the accident.
Once the news gained further traction, Jeremiah Donati, TCU’s Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, mourned the cornerback’s death.
“Our TCU Athletics family, and especially our soccer program, was devastated to learn of Jeff Gladney’s passing.
He will be missed by our entire community. Our thoughts, prayers and deepest condolences go out to Jeff’s family, friends and TCU teammates,” he wrote on social media.
Jeff Gladney is survived by a young son he had from a previous relationship.
