The alarm bells are ringing at Real Madrid after Karim Benzema was forced to leave Tuesday’s Champions League match against Celtic with a knee injury.
Although the Frenchman tried to continue the discomfort proved too much. He headed straight for the dressing room after 30 minutes in what is a worrying sign for Los Blancos.
Up to that point the striker had been fairly anonymous, with Vinicius the most dangerous player in attack.
Benzema did have one chance in the 15th minute, but his left-footed strike failed to hit the target.
Then came the worrisome moment for all Madrid fans given its tough to pinpoint exactly when Benzema suffered the injury.
The Frenchman was cheered on by fans in attendance at Celtic Park when he left the field in what was a lovely gesture by the Celtic supporters.
