Kyrie Irving’s trade to the Los Angeles Lakers seems to be on the cards.

The key is the first round draft picks that could be offered by the Los Angeles franchise.

Talk of a deal being close has been reported by Jovan Buha of The Athletic

“If the Lakers were willing to offer two first-rounders, Kyrie would be a Laker right now,” Buha said.

The Nets are reportedly asking the Lakers for that price right now for their star point guard.

One of those rounds would go to Brooklyn, while the other would go to a potential third team willing to take Russell Westbrook, who would be the big name entering the deal.

For the moment the Lakers are only willing to offer one first round pick, though it wouldn’t be surprising if they end up improving their offer given the possibility of having their coveted Big Three: Irving, Lebron James and Anthony Davis.

Nets prioritise Kevin Durant trade

Brooklyn also have another hot spot to deal with: the Durant trade.

The latest reports suggested that the Nets had put the Irving trade on ice, wanting to sort out Durant’s new destination first.

However, it is not ruled out that if the Lakers give in to Brooklyn’s demands for Irving, Irving will be the first to find a new destination, thus closing, once and for all, one of the biggest NBA stories of the summer.
