Before you go on to say that LeBron James dissed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar due to the all-time scoring NBA record, let us give you a bit of context. In a recent exchange with the media, LeBron James was questioned about his relationship with the former Lakers legend. He will likely pass his record of points scored in the NBA.

Kareem sits at the top with 38,387 points and James currently has 37,062. If he has a season similar to the previous one, LeBron will have no problem surpassing Kareem. But this hasn’t casued a rift between the two legendary players. Abdul-Jabbar has repeatedly spoken against LeBron James over many different topics and James just seems fed up with the Lakers legend.

How did LeBron James dis Kareem Abdul-Jabbar?

It was a relatively small exchange between James and the media, one reporter simply asked him if he had any thoughts on the current record holder and asked him about their relationship. James had a pair of shades on and seemed completely unamused. His response was cold and quick, proving he doesn’t seem to like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. This is what James simply said to the reporter’s question about Kareem: “No thoughts and no relationship.”

That’s a tad cold coming from a Laker about one of the greatest Lakers in history. But LeBron James responded in this fashion for a very specific reason. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has made it his life mission to make LeBron James know he is not the GOAT. Repeatedly, Kareem has dissed James for dancing after scoring a basket, for having his own ideas about COVID vaccinations. You name it, Abdul-Jabbar will criticize LeBron for anything.

After LeBron James said getting vaccinated was everyone’s personal choice, Kareem didn’t like it one bit. He is a known advocate for far left issues and has been for decades. So, he naturally doesn’t liek it when his peers don’t agree with him on something. This is what Kareem wrote back then in his Substack account: “I’m a huge fan of LeBron James, both as one of the greatest basketball players ever and as a humanitarian who cares about social injustice.

“I have written his praises many times in the past and undoubtedly will in the future. I admire him and have affection for him. But this time LeBron is just plain wrong – and his being wrong could be deadly, especially to the Black community.” Also, there was that time Kareem came after LeBron for a dance he did on court.
