The Los Angeles Lakers and LeBron James are looking to bounce back after a disappointing 33-49 season that saw them fail to make the playoffs.

That’s why James, before sitting down and talking about a new contact, met with team officials as they look to avoid a repeat of what happened last season.

Positive meeting with the Lakers

According to Yahoo Sports, the 37-year-old met with general manager Rob Pelinka and coach Darvin Ham, with most of the conversation focused on a few concerns, along with what the team needs to do to improve.

One of LeBron‘s biggest concerns is the team’s lack of chemistry.

The James-Westbrook-Davis trident looked to be one of the best in the league on paper, but on the court, they failed to find their rhythm.

For his part, Ham has said that he wants to create a sense of camaraderie in the locker room where individuals won’t be singled out, but rather, work collectively.

Westbrook must improve

Westbrook‘s name also came up in conversation. Everyone agreed that he must improve next season if the Lakers are to contend.

Should he stay in Los Angeles, which isn’t a guarantee, he’ll be a critical piece in Ham’s system.

James’ new contract

Since the beginning of the offseason, James‘ future has been a topic of discussion for many.

The 37-year-old has the option to sign a two-year extension worth 97.1 million.

At this time, James has no intention of leaving the Lakers, which should bring some peace of mind to the team.
