At age 37, LeBron James is showing no signs of slowing down. He sat out the second half of the Phoenix Suns at LA Lakers preseason game, and the visiting team is glad that he did.
His stat line is one for the ages: 23 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal and no turnovers in just 17 minutes of play. To put that into perspective, if he would have played the 48 minutes of the game at the same proficiency, he would have summed up 64 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists for a monster triple-double.
LeBron James made 8 of 11 field goals (72.7%), missing only 3 three-pointers. Although he didn’t make all of his free-throws (4 of 5).
Despite only playing for 17 minutes, LeBron still led his team scoring in the loss over the Suns at Crypto.com Arena in LA. It is worth nothing, that the Lakers were ahead 69 to 62 when LeBron sat out the rest of the game.
LeBron vowed to never miss the playoffs again
After a more than frustrating 21-22, LeBron James is going all out to put respect back on his name this season. At the end of last season, when the Lakers missed the big ticket, he vowed it would never happen again: “This sh*t hurt”.
LeBron James has appeared in 266 playoff games in his career. And he’s only missed out the postseason 4 times over the span of his 19-year career, last year being one of them. Seeing how things are getting started, it’s hard to imagine it happening ever again, regardless of how well the Lakers are able to gel this season.
