The Golden State Warriors‘ hopes of claiming a ring are beginning to hang in the balance. It sounds dramatic, but it’s realistic to say that Stephen Curry‘s health is the Bay Area team’s main concern.

He was injured in the third game of the NBA Playoff Finals and if he has anything serious wrong with him, his team will lose a lot, if not everything.

Because without Curry, they can’t get going. They have no real chance of beating the Boston Celtics without him.

The No.30’s wonderful third quarter allowed the Warriors to dream at the Garden. Although they didn’t go far, as their last quarter repeated the same feeling as the first game. It’s hard to win like that.

Eleven points is not a great number for a team that wants to be champions. And even less so against a Celtics in wonderful form.

Not for the first time….

Sixteen points in the first game, 11 in the fourth quarter in the third. These are embarrassing numbers being put up by the Golden State Warriors after reaching a pivotal moment in the NBA Finals.

The results aren’t good enough. So much so that the Garden clash is the second-lowest scoring game in their playoffs history. The other was nine in 1950. They were playing in Philadelphia.

It is the fourth time since 2015 that the Warriors have been down 2-1 in a playoff series. So far they have one loss, although that came in their last playoffs appearance. The Toronto Raptors went on to win the championship then.

The Celtics are worthy of a ring

Don’t let the Warriors‘ disaster cover up the Boston Celtics‘ display. That’s another reality of Game 3 of the NBA Finals.

Yes, the Californian team were out of the running after a disastrous finish, but the Celtics were largely to blame. Defending perfectly, catching every loose ball – at both hoops – and having a ‘Magic Shamrock’ who produced his best performance.

Because nobody had scored more than 20 points and at least five rebounds and five assists with three of their players since the 1984 Final Four.

On that occasion it was the Los Angeles Lakers of Abdul-Jabbar, Magic Johnson and Cooper. Now, Brown, Smart and Tatum are taking a historic step.

Robert Williams plays with ‘half’ a leg!

And it’s not just their big names. The Boston Celtics also have peripheral players who are playing at a spectacular level.

In the first game it was White and Pritchard‘s turn, in their second game it was the turn of a Robert Williams, who is as fundamental as he is useful. He’s fundamental because of his defensive intensity, and useful because he provides solutions and is a defensive system in his own right.

And he plays with a limp. It is worth remembering that he has had a meniscus tear since March and his limp is noticeable from the moment he steps on the court.

Even so, he fights and performs well at all times.

Should the Warriors be worried for Curry?

This is the big question. What is Curry‘s health status after that loose rebound that went down in a scramble?

He came out of it sore and his game changed for the worse. He wasn’t in tune and he was hurt.

The No.30 is by far the best player in the NBA Finals.
