Saturday’s 1-0 defeat against a struggling Everton was the straw that broke the camel’s back for Manchester United, as crisis has deepened at the Old Trafford.
The Red Devils are sitting seventh in the Premier League table, below the European spots, after having registering two losses and a couple of draws in their last five games.

Poor results have affected the dressing room and Ralf Rangnick‘s remarks in the press conference after the defeat at the Goodison Park serve as proof of the bad situation at the club.
“The players should be eager to play Champions League football, but as long as we play like today they don’t deserve it,” Rangnick said.
“If you don’t score in 95 minutes against a team who conceded three goals against Burnley, it is difficult to explain. For us as a coaching staff it is difficult to understand why we didn’t create more chances.”
Outside the top four
After the match against Everton was over, David de Gea didn’t look for excuses and called his team’s performance a ‘disgrace’, stressing that clinching a top-four spot will be a tough task.

“It is a disgrace from us, we should be winning this game,” noted De Gera.
“We don’t score but we [also] don’t create proper chances to score. We are not good enough, that is for sure. It will be difficult to be in the top four.”

And if this wasn’t enough, the Merseyside police has launched an investigation into Cristiano Ronaldo after the Portuguese star smashed a fan’s mobile phone on the ground on his way to the tunnel.
As of April, Manchester United have been knocked out from the Champions League and they currently are 22 points behind Premier League leaders and city rivals Manchester City.
