Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford was placed in concussion protocol.
Stafford will be evaluated day-to-day to see if he can play next Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals, if he doesn’t play his place will be taken by John Wolford.
Stafford’s wife, Kelly, is very concerned.
After learning the news about Stafford, his wife uploaded a message to social networks where she commented that she is very worried about Matthew, she wrote that she gets very bad in health issues that have to do with the head.
“If you have listened to my podcast at all, you know how big a deal it is to me,” Kelly wrote Wednesday. “The head is not something to be messed with… and I hope as this sport develops, so does the concern for head health and the research around it.”
And no, I’m not ok. I have every emotion running trough me. Concerned, angry, sad, tired… all of them.”
Kelly had a brain tumor
After suffering dizziness and abnormalities in her body, Kelly Stafford decided to see a doctor. Unfortunately for her and her family, she was diagnosed with a brain tumor, which strengthened her relationship with Matthew.
Kelly told U.S. media that the football player served as an incredible caregiver throughout the process. In 2019 she underwent an operation to remove the tumor, which was successful. He then went through a long stretch of rehabilitation in which he even had to relearn how to walk.
“I feared for my life, I thought at some point that it was all going to be over. The love of my family made me keep fighting but it was a long time of fear. It was very complicated to go through all of this,” Kelly said in a special that ESPN did a few months ago.
