Kylian Mbappe starred in the World Cup final with his hat-trick against Argentina, but that outstanding performance was not enough for France to retain their World Cup crown.

All the spotlight was on Lionel Messi and Argentina because of their triumph, however the football planet is at Mbappe‘s feet after a display that establishes him as the best player in the world right now.

The hug between Mbappe and Messi

After the defeat, Mbappe received consolation from his teammates, French president Emmanuel Macron, FIFA president Gianni Infantino and the Emir of Qatar.

But, there was no possible consolation for a player who did everything to win but fell painfully short.

Mbappe is sure France will be back

That’s why Mbappe waited until the day after the defeat to post a message on his social networks.

He said just a few words, but very significant words that are moving and show his greatness.

“We will be back”,” Mbappe posted alongside two emojis of the French flag and his hands in prayer.

There is no doubt that Mbappe and France will return. They have a very young squad, with the PSG striker just 23.

That message from Mbappe was widely applauded and he has not stopped receiving messages of support.

The Frenchman proved that he is one of the best, despite not being able to celebrate another world championship.

He finished the tournament as the Golden Boot winner, with eight goals.
