The Kylian Mbappe transfer saga has taken a new twist in recent days, as the Frenchman refused to rule out the possibility of signing a new contract at Paris Saint-Germain.
Speaking after PSG‘s 5-1 win at home to Lorient on Sunday night, the 23-year-old admitted that he is yet to take a decision regarding his future.
“I haven’t made the decision, but there are new elements, a fair amount of factors to take into account,” Mbappe said.
“What are they? New elements.
“I am calm, looking to make the best possible decision with my loved ones.”
Will Mbappe stay at PSG?
And now Daniele Riolo, the journalist who correctly claimed that Lionel Messi would be signing for PSG, has told RMC Sport that Mbappe will put pen to paper on a new deal at the Parisian club.
“[PSG president Nasser] Al-Khelaifi‘s only interest is knowing what Kylian [Mbappe] will do,” said Riolo.
“No one will believe me, but [his new contract] will be announced in May and he will stay.”
In spite of all these rumours and the speculation over his future, Real Madrid remain confident that he will join in the summer.
Should he do so, Mbappe will be the cornerstone of Los Blancos‘ new project ahead of next season.
