Michael Jordan is arguably the greatest basketball player to ever live, but his reputation as one of the worst NBA owners continues with reports of the Charlotte Hornets looking to re-sign Miles Bridges.

On Friday, ESPN‘s Senior NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski reported that talks between the Charlotte franchise and Bridges are “gathering traction” when it comes to signing the restricted free agent forward to a new deal.

Optimism exists that an agreement could come in the near future, sources told ESPN on Friday,” Wojnarowski wrote.

Bridges, 24, pleaded no contest to a felony charge after allegedly beating his then-girlfriend in front of their two children.

NBA Twitter was quick to scoff at the Hornets entertaining the idea of forgiving Bridges, with Molly Morrison of Bleacher Report saying she will be happy to root against them.

Michael Jordan’s resumé as an NBA owner

Jordan, 59, doesn’t have the best track record as an NBA owner, but considering that some of the league’s teams have been ran by racists, he’s hardly the worst one.

He has, however, done some questionable things when it comes to basketball.

MJ, for example, traded away Shai Gilgeous-Alexander for Bridges in the 2018 Draft. He also has the worst record of all-time in a single season (7-59) as an owner and has never reached the Conference Finals.

Bridges will have to serve a suspension handed down to him by the NBA once he agrees to a new deal with Charlotte.

Mile Bridges will return to play for Hornets?

The league is currently investigating the incident to figure out how long a suspension to give Bridges, who is reportedly already planning to get back in good graces with the local community by attending domestic violence groups.

Bridges, represented by Klutch Sports, has been in consistent contact with the Hornets organization, according to Wojnarowski.

While nothing is yet concrete, it seems like LaMelo Ball and the Hornets (8-24) will once again get to play alongside Bridges.

If he does not reach a deal with Charlotte, Bridges would remain a restricted free agent in the offseason, and able to accept the best available offer.
