Mike Tyson is seen as one of the toughest men in sporting history. Yet, behind his strong facade is a sensitive character, according to the American himself.

Despite being former world heavyweight boxing champion, and being well served by his aggression and fierceness, Tyson claims that it is his fear that makes him so violent.

“I am so scared that I am so violent and I can’t control my violence. I’m scared,” he said on his Hotboxin podcast.

The 57-year-old added that it has become almost a natural instinct for him to be on the offensive.

“Does that make any sense to you? Me, Mike Tyson and I’m so f*****g scared of everything.”

“All I know how to do is attack, I feel that way.”

“They could never believe that I hate myself.”

Tyson has opened up a great deal since his retirement, revealing plenty of stories of personal struggle and development.

He has revealed that he has taken psychedelic medicines like Ayahuasca, which allow for deep introspection and self-improvement, among other methods of self-help.
