Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) destroyed Real Salt Lake (RSL) on Saturday night at Rio Tinto Stadium with a brace by Cristian “Chicho” Arango and an impressive goal from Gareth Bale.

LAFC recorded its fifth consecutive league victory and it’s also the fifth straight time defeating RSL.

Arango opened the score early with a backheel goal that will likely go down as one of the season’s best finishes.

A couple of minutes later, Sergio Cordova did not hesitate while standing on the edge of the box, sending a lethal shot to the back of the net.

In minute 17, Kellyn Acosta regained the lead for LAFC with another clinical finish.

The exciting first half full of incredible goals came to a close and both teams took the field in the second without a single substitution.

Arango scores brace, Bale adds to tally

Arango scored his second goal of the night in minute 60, an easy tap in off an assist from Kwadwo Opoku.

Four minutes later, with LAFC up by two goals, Bale replaced Carlos Vela on the field.

LAFC head coach Steven Cherundolo made three more subs along with Bale and minutes later would remove Giorgio Chiellini after he got booked for deliberately stopping a pass with his hands.

With three minutes left to go, Bale sprinted down the right side and beat two defenders to get inside the box.

His shot went flying past the RSL goalkeeper and the Welshman celebrated his second MLS goal.

LAFC will take on Charlotte next Saturday as RSL face the Seattle Sounders.
