The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) defeated the LA Galaxy 3-2 on Friday night at Banc of California Stadium as Carlos Vela managed to record a couple of assists.

This marks the first LAFC victory over Galaxy in the past six head-to-heads between the cross-town rivals.

Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez struggled throughout the entire match and had several fits of rage against a few of his teammates.

Vela, meanwhile, controlled the game splendidly after missing last week’s LAFC loss to the Vancouver Whitecaps.

Jose Cifuentes opened the score to give the home side its first lead of the night, which remained until the 55th minute of play.

Though Galaxy never led, they tied with a Samuel Grandsir goal 10 minutes into the second half.

Cifuentes regained the lead for LAFC in the 70th minute before Cristian Arango scored the third goal for his side — both assisted by Vela.

Galaxy held out hope until the end, especially when Rayan Raveloson got the visitors within one on the scoreboard in the 81st minute.

Maxime Crepeau blocked a Raveloson shot in the whaning minutes of the game to secure an LAFC victory that keeps them in first place of the Western Conference with 39 points.

Galaxy, meanwhile, are in jeopardy of dropping from the fourth position as multiple teams share the same amount of points at 27.
