The MLS All-Stars repeated the dose to the Liga MX All-Stars and won 2-1 in the All Star Game that took place at the Allianz Field in Minnesota, where Carlos Vela contributed with a goal for the United States team.
Vela, just at minute 2, and Raul Ruidiaz, on penalty at minute 73, scored the goals for the MLS team, while Kevin Alvarez scored for the Liga MX team at minute 84, but it was not enough to equalize and the team of Mexican stars was once again outplayed.
With Chicharito Hernández and Carlos Vela starting, it was the LAFC star who opened the scoring with a very quick goal, just after 2 minutes.
After a play of several touches on the left sector, Vela received a precise cross from Diego Palacios; the Mexican player rose and with an accurate header beat Camilo Vargas for the 1-0 lead that took them to the break.
Liga MX dominated, but failed to score
The blow was hard for the Liga MX team, who gradually settled on the field and began to dominate the match and had goal opportunities, the first two with headers by Julio Furch, but neither of them had the expected direction and both were wasted.
Although the MLS team tried to reach dangerously or extend the lead, their attempts were easily controlled by the rival defense. Juan Escobar and Fernando Beltrán were other players who had dangerous chances for the Liga MX side, but their shots went wide.
