If there was any doubt that Jordan Poole is the third Splash Brother of the Golden State Warriors, these two victories over the Denver Nuggets in the First Round of the NBA Playoffs undoubtedly cemented his spot alongside Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.

The three Golden State guards combined for 74 points to give them a 2-0 lead over Nikola Jokic and company. Jokic got ejected from the game in the fourth quarter after getting his second technical foul for arguing with an official.

Steph Curry reaches 3,000 playoff points

Curry once again came off the Warriors bench and scored 34 points in 23 minutes of action to reach 3,000 playoff points. Thompson and Poole, meanwhile, scored a respective 21 and 29 points, with the latter adding eight spectacular assists.

Poole was one point shy of his second consecutive 30-point game as Andrew Wiggins contributed to the win with 13 points and Nemanja Bjelica added 10 off the bench. Jokic led Denver in scoring with 26 points on 20 shots but continues to struggle from beyond the arc, going a total of 0-for-8 from deep in both games.

Warriors end first half on 16-0 scoring run

Monté Morris, Will Barton and Nah’Shon Hyland each added a dozen points for the Nuggets, while Bryn Forbes put up 10. Denver led by as many as 12 points in the second quarter, but a 16-0 scoring run by the Warriors sent the visitors into the break trailing by six.

In the third quarter, the Dubs scored 44 points, went up by 20, and never looked back, forcing Denver head coach Michael Malone to wave the white flag with less than five minutes to play in the final frame. Game 3 is scheduled to tip off at 7:00 p.m. PT on Thursday, April 21 at Ball Arena.
