NFL running backs Adrian Peterson and Le’Veon Bell will face off in a boxing match Saturday but both All-Pro players looked miserable at the weigh-in Friday.

Peterson, 37, and Bell, 30, are both free agents and have yet to announce their retirement from the NFL.

In fact, Peterson recently told TMZ Sports that even though he hasn’t received any calls, he would love to play for the Buffalo Bills, Los Angeles Rams or San Francisco 49ers this season.

With the 2022 NFL season kicking off Thursday night and both running backs remain without a team, it’s clear to see why they weren’t thrilled at the weigh-in.

Perhaps it’s just nervousness due to both of them making their pro boxing debut Saturday, but they would certainly rather be on the gridiron than on the ring.

Prediction for Bell vs. Peterson

Bell weighed in at 204 pounds, while Peterson tipped the scale at 218.

Recently-released videos of Bell and Peterson working out individually on the ring shed some light on who the better fighter is between the two.

Peterson seems much too slow and heavy, so his only shot at winning is to land a power punch that knocks out Bell.

Bell, meanwhile, looked lean and fast but he could use some work on his punching technique.

It’ll be hard to knock out Peterson, but Bell will likely win the five-round fight via unanimous decision.
