The Miami Dolphins (4-3) defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers (2-5) in a Sunday Night Football matchup at Hard Rock Stadium that saw quarterback Tua Tagovailoa return to action after more than three weeks out with a concussion.

NFL Twitter held its collective breath when Tagovailoa took a couple of hard hits in the open field.

Tagovailoa, 24, was clearly not thinking about anything else besides the win when he rushed four times for 15 yards.

On a couple of those runs, he opted not to slide, and instead drove his helmet into the incoming defender, to gain as many yards as possible.

Should Tagovailoa take another big hit without fully healing — knock on wood — the damage to his brain could be devastating.

Tua Tagovailoa triumphant in return

Tagovailoa threw his only TD pass of the night on the opening drive, finding running back Raheem Mostert through the air for the score.

Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett could have led his team to a comeback victory down the stretch, but threw his third interception of the night into the end zone to seal Pittsburgh’s fate.

Pickett, 24, threw for 257 yards and one touchdown on 32-for-44 completed passes.

Tagovailoa and company will visit the Detroit Lions next Sunday as Steelers travel to take on the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles.
