There are worrying reports coming out of the United States about a shooting that has occurred at a New York subway station, with multiple people left wounded and undetonated devices discovered.
As law enforcement sources told NBC New York, a man was seen throwing a device in the Brooklyn subway station before opening fire. It is thought that he was wearing the clothes of a construction worker.

New York City Mayor reacts after the shooting
Despite having COVID-19, New York City Mayor Eric Adams is aware of the Brooklyn subway shooting.
“While we gather more information, we ask New Yorkers to stay away from this area for their safety and so that first responders can help those in need and investigate,” Adams’ spokesperson Fabien Levy said on Twitter.
Two people in critical condition
Of the 13 wounded, five people were shot and at least two people are in critical condition, according to senior officials quoted by CNN and Al Jazeera.
Tragedy in the Subway was reported at 8:30 am.
Police officers were called to the 36th Street and 4th Avenue subway station, where the D, N and R lines pass through the Sunset Park neighborhood, around 8:30 a.m., NYPD said.
Suspect’s clothing
According to CBS New York journalist Nick Caloway, the New York Police Department (NYPD) are looking for an individual who is – or was – wearing an orange reflective construction vest and a gas mask.
No active explosives
The New York Police Department (NYPD) has confirmed that there are currently no active explosives at the scene of the shooting, despite previous reports of there being undetonated devices present.
At least 13 people injured
According to the Wall Street Journal, there are at least 13 people who have sustained injuries as a result of the shooting in the Brooklyn subway station.
