A few days ago, it seemed widely likely that wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. would sign a contract to become the Dallas Cowboys‘ stellar new wide receiver, however, after the results of the medical tests he underwent in the first of his two-day visit to The Star came back that optimism has all but vanished.

According to a report from ESPN’s Ed Werder, “America’s Team” is extremely concerned that OBJ’s health will prevent him from playing until mid-January, and if that were the case they would find it extremely risky to sign a player who will contribute little in an attempt to return to the Super Bowl this season.
Add to that a statement from team owner Jerry Jones to 105.3 The Fan, and it is clear that OBJ’s future appears to be not as close as previously thought to being a teammate of quarterback Dak Prescott.

“Now, we all realize that issue of health, that issue of availability is here every time,” Jones said. “Just this one is very obvious and very pointed toward his injury that occurred last year in the Super Bowl. … You got a lot of history here and you can take a good look at, not only the obvious and that’s his performance, but also any issues regarding health. So, all of this we got to come in with our eyes wide open and it has to be addressed, and that’s when you can see if you can make a deal or not.”
It should be recalled that Beckham has not played since the first half of the last Super Bowl LVI in which his then team, the Los Angeles Rams defeated the Cincinnati Bengals at SoFi Stadium, as he tore the ACL in his knee during the game.
