After defeating Anthony Joshua a second time, Oleksandr Usyk was seen leaving Saudi Arabia from the airport.
On Saturday night, the two duked it out in front of 40,000 spectators inside the Jeddah Super Dome.
Joshua’s aspirations of exacting revenge on Usyk for their prior defeat, however, were thwarted when the Ukrainian won in a split decision.
Usyk’s celebration was then ruined by the Brit, who took two of his titles and dropped them outside the ring before launching into an angry tirade.
In a post-match interview, Joshua’s rage turned to tears as he was asked about the altercation. Joshua’s unexpected collapse in the ring was the reason for Usyk’s tight 112-117 victory.
Usyk’s lucky donkey
Usyk’s bravery can be credited to the fortunate donkey that his daughter Yelizaveta gave him when they were split up by the bloody conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
Since then, The Champ hasn’t let the stuffed animal-who he has renamed Liolia -leave his sight.
Liolia was there as he defeated Joshua, and she was right there with him once more as he took off from the Middle East.
Michael Benson was able to capture video of Usyk picking up his boarding permit from Turkish Airlines with the donkey’s head sticking out of his Louis Vuitton backpack.
Despite having two black eyes from the riveting spectacle over the weekend, Usyk was beaming.
And in response to a question about how he was feeling, he made fun of it by saying, “I am feel, I am very feel,” alluding to the speech he gave after defeating Joshua in their first match.
Usyk and Liolia may currently be preparing to take on AJ’s British opponent Tyson Fury.
In a passionate speech after defeating AJ on points, the 35-year-old requested that the Gyspy King come out of retirement to take on him.
However, considering that his cousin sadly died from a stabbing over the weekend, fighting may be the last thing on Fury’s mind right now.
