Pau Gasol visited his home in the Los Angeles Lakers. The best Spanish player of all time went to Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on a special day.

Not only because of the team’s first victory, but also because a legend of the franchise, George Mikan, was honored. And Pau will also see his no.16 hanging from the roof of the arena this season.

And he was quick to remember the man who was fundamental to his development in the LA team.

“Whenever I come here I remember Kobe Bryant,” Gasol told Mike Trudell, a court-side reporter.

“I think about him every day and now I have a great relationship with Vanessa and the girls, because we are family and we loved each other very much.”

Gasol is moved by the fact that his shirt will hang from the ceiling this season.

“I’m still overwhelmed. I process being a part of this, with everything to come. I’m very happy,” Pau explained during the game against the Nuggets.

He was invited by the tribute to George Mikan, to whom he paid tribute.

“He has all my respect,” Gasol said. “One of the best ‘big guys’ of all time and he taught how to finish under the rim, use two hands, resources…. And he is part of the legacy that teaches us who we are, what we were and to all the youngsters to come.”
