Man City face one of their more straightforward fixtures between now and the end of the season this Saturday when they host Luton Town in the Premier League.

The reigning champions have been victorious on two trips to Kenilworth Road this term and will be keen to make it a hat-trick of victories against the Hatters this weekend as they continue their charge for a fourth successive Premier League title.

Pep Guardiola has the odd fitness concern but his deep squad should have no issues dispatching of a Luton side ravaged with injuries and currently sat in the relegation zone, even if there is some rotation ahead of a crucial tie with Real Madrid.

Here’s how Man City could line up against Luton on Saturday.

GK: Ederson – The Brazilian hasn’t featured since sustaining an injury against Liverpool in early March but has been on the bench over the last few games and may come in for Stefan Ortega this weekend.

CB: John Stones – Had a difficult afternoon against Crystal Palace in his most recent league outing but was much more effective in a hybrid midfield role against Real Madrid midweek.

CB: Ruben Dias – Conceded an unfortunate own goal during the 3-3 draw with Madrid but has started Man City’s last five games in all competitions. The Portuguese is always a cool head.

CB: Manuel Akanji – It’s a toss-up between the Swiss and Josko Gvardiol for a starting berth against Luton, but Akanji may get the nod despite his teammate’s excellent strike against Madrid on Tuesday. Nathan Ake’s absence makes him an even more important asset.

DM: Rico Lewis – As he did so well against Palace last weekend, Lewis may be employed in a hybrid midfield role that allows him to drop back to right-back at times. However, he will spend the majority of his time in midfield and will be hopeful of grabbing another goal after scoring at Selhurst Park.

DM: Rodri – Arguably the only irreplaceable member of Man City’s squad and unlikely to be offered a weekend rest given his side’s record without him.

RM: Oscar Bobb – Handed a start against Palace last weekend and may be afforded the same luxury against Luton. The young Norwegian has shown plenty of promise this season and will be eager to get more first-team exposure.

CM: Phil Foden – The youngster netted a hat-trick in his last match at the Etihad and scored another beauty against Madrid. Few can match his output in the Premier League at present.

CM: Julian Alvarez – A regular starter in midfield in the Premier League, tasked with making clever runs in behind the opposition defence to stretch the game. Given he didn’t start at the Bernabeu, he’s likely to start on Saturday.

LM: Jeremy Doku – The Belgian has dropped to the bench recently with Jack Grealish fit again, but Guardiola will need his energetic running to open up Luton’s low block.

ST: Erling Haaland – The Man City forward has faced some criticism for his overall play in recent weeks but netted five against Luton in the previous meeting. He will be eyeing up some more against the Hatters this Saturday.
