Joe Rogan, arguably one of the most successful podcasts in history, has decided to offer his take on the Brittney Griner saga.

The media personality questioned why Griner deserved special treatment over the thousands of individuals who were incarcerated in the United States for committing similar violations.

“People are freaking about this, right,” Rogan said on one of his recent podcasts.

“Russia needs to let her go. We have people in America locked up for marijuana and they’ve been locked up for f**king years.

“For years and years and years, and there’s not one – there’s thousands of them.

“So, what they’re not good at throwing a f**king ball into a net? Is that what it is? They’re not good at that one thing we like to watch? So, those f**king people don’t get let out.”

Rogan also voiced a similar opinion earlier in the year when the issue first came to light.

“This is some really horrible s**t,” Rojan said shortly after Griner‘s arrest.

“I hope some sort of a deal can be made to get her out, and I hope this makes us look at our own policies here in America where thousands of people are in jail for cannabis right now.”

Despite calls from a host of celebrities and sports icons in America, Griner was sentenced to nine years in prison.

The US government are currently working on a deal to trade arms dealer Viktor Bout in exchange for Griner.
