Does Golovkin arrive in better shape than Canelo?
While Canelo Alvarez’s last loss to Dmitry Bivol took a bit of credibility away from him by some boxing fans or pundits, it’s worth mentioning that Golovkin will come into this fight on a nice winning streak.
Since September 2018 Gennady Golovkin, lost his undefeated, however, after that fight that was against Canelo, he has not fallen again.
After that date he has four consecutive victories, two of them by knockout and one more by corner decision, however, it is practically by fast track.
Two of those victories meant her promotion again, since they earned her two world titles in the 160 lbs. division. The first was the IBF title against Sergiy Derevyanchenko and just in April 2022 he defeated Ryota Murata to win the WBA title.
