ESPN First Take host Shannon Sharpe has strong opinions about the potential partnership between Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and free agent coach Bill Belichick, calling it a “match made in hell.”

Belichick‘s recent departure from the New England Patriots has sparked speculation about his next move, and the struggling Cowboys, fresh from an embarrassing loss in the NFC Wild Card round, are facing calls for a coaching change.

Sharpe’s take on the potential challenges

With Belichick eyeing the all-time regular season wins record, the idea of him joining forces with Jones has generated significant discussion, but Sharpe believes the pairing could lead to more challenges for the Cowboys.

“Hell no,” Sharpe told First Take.

“Man do you not understand that coach Belichick wants authority?

“Can you imagine Jerry Jones trying to hold a press conference and tell what’s going on with the team?

“And you think coach Belichick is gonna sit by – idly by – and let Jerry do that? Absolutely not… It’s a match made in hell.

“You can’t pick a worse match than Jerry Jones and coach Bill Belichick… He got rid of Jimmy [Johnson]. He got rid of Bill Parcells.

“Do you understand? Coach Belichick learned under ParcellsJimmy and coach Parcells and coach Belichick are more alike.

“And once he got rid of Parcells what has he done? Hired the Chan Gaileys, hired the Dave Campbells, hired the Jason Garretts, hired Mike McCarthy.

“He don’t want that type of coach. He wants to do everything. He wants to be the face of it. I find it ironic [Stephen A Smith and Dan Orlovsky] don’t you find it ironic, the man that the reporters normally have to [say] “Jerry we have to go talk to the players” – he had so little to talk about yesterday.”
