Conte’s side were unlucky as it took a deflected Diaz shot to beat Lloris with 16 minutes to go. Liverpool piled the pressure on Spurs who defended with all their men behind the ball.
The Reds put numerous crosses into Spurs’ box but the visitors’ defenders comfortably cleared all balls, as the hosts failed to find ways to penetrate the opposition back-five.
Liverpool are now on top of the Premier League table level on points with Manchester City, who have one game in hand. Spurs are currently fifth, just one point behind the top four.
