According to information published by several media outlets, Matthew Stafford, quarterback of the Super Bowl-winning Los Angeles Rams, has had little activity prior to the regular season.
All this is due to the fact that Stafford has an inflammation in his shoulder that causes discomfort when training, so the Rams’ head coach, Sean McVay, revealed that his starting QB cannot have the same physical load as the rest of the team.

As a result, Stafford has had limited work since his return to practice to speed his recovery.

“We had decreased Matthew Stafford’s workload today,” McVay told reporters in attendance. “Really when we looked at it, you know,we’ve got five weeks until September 8. He’s still feeling a little bit of pain.”

The aforementioned Sept. 8 is the date of the NFL Kickoff, when the Rams begin defense of the Vince Lombardi Trophy when they host the Buffalo Bills.
“You guys have been here, he’s been throwing and competing. We felt like the smart thing to do was to take it one week at a time,” McVay continued. He (Matthew Stafford) ended up doing 40 to 50 throws. We didn’t participate in team activities and that’s really more a result of him having a lot of experience.”

“The most important thing is that he feels good and healthy on Sept. 8. Certainly, we could push and he could go through this, but that’s not the goal with someone like him. It’s not something we’re concerned about,” the Rams coach said.
Stafford improved his situation with the Rams during the playoffs.
The Rams QB had the second-worst interception percentage in the regular season. However, he improved his play during the playoffs, winning the desired ring in his first season away from the Detroit Lions.
