Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James‘ intention to play alongside his colleague and, in the collective imagination, arch-rival, Golden State WarriorsStephen Curry definitely caught the “Chef’s” attention, and his reaction was immediate, although, it was surely not what the “King” expected.

LeBron James’ pick

James chose Curry as the active player he would most like to play with as a teammate this Wednesday, the compliment was gladly taken by the person with the most three-pointers in NBA history, however, the idea of playing together was not so well taken.

“That is phenomenal,” Curry said to Matt Steinmetz and Daryle ‘the Guru’ Johnson on 95.7 The Game. “He got his wish, as a captain he’s picked me the last two All-Star games. So I don’t know if that suffices, but I’m good right now.”

Curry vs. LeBron: Four NBA Finals in a row

Curry and James met in four consecutive NBA Finals in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018, three of them victories for the Warriors and one for the Cleveland Cavaliers, so a hypothetical meeting, would mark the first time two rivals in as many Larry O’Brien Trophy contests would be on the same team.

“Whenever you get the interest or curiosity of what it would be like to play with an MVP-caliber dude like he is, and one of the greatest of all time, cool, it’s amazing,” he said. “We all can live in that fantasy world though.”

LeBron James still has a year left on his contract with the Lakers and has never hesitated to form super teams with the idea of winning championships, the Warriors also added Kevin Durant at the time, however, judging by Stephen Curry’s words, seeing this reunion take place is not in his plans, at least for now.
