Next Saturday, April 16 will be the start of the NBA playoffs, and with Stephen Curry‘s return to the Golden State Warriors, the point guard hopes to be back from Game 1 of the series against the Denver Nuggets.

The Warriors are pinning their hopes for a return to the championship on “Chef” Curry’s full recovery from injury. Last season’s MVP has already returned to practice at the same pace as everyone else, but Saturday is still a long way off to find out if he will be fit to play.

Interviewed by his Warriors teammate Draymond Green, “Chef” Curry said: “The goal is to be in that first game” of the series against the Nuggets, in which the first one to win four games will advance.

Curry already wants to play every minute of the playoffs

“We know where we’re at in the year. We haven’t been in the Playoffs for two years, it’s kind of weird to think about. I’m really excited because I know how much I love that atmosphere. I don’t want to miss any of it, I’m very optimistic.”

The best three-point shooter in NBA history – who led the NBA this season with 295 successful shots from behind the arc – participated in the Warriors’ first practice on Wednesday, excellent news for a franchise that is totally dependent on him, as evidenced by the 1-6 record they had from March 20-30 due to Curry’s injury.

Currently 34 years old, the next member of the Basketball Hall of Fame played five consecutive Finals with the Warriors between 2015 and 2019 , lifting the 2015, 2017 and 2018 titles, while LeBron James’ Cavaliers and Kawhi Leonard’s Raptors defeated them.

Curry was injured in a game against the Boston Celtics last March 16, so his absence will be at least a month, the same in which the Warriors fell from second place in the Western Conference to almost fall to fourth place.
