The two teams with the best records in the NBA squared off in what could very well be a preview of the Eastern Conference Finals as the Boston Celtics sent a strong Christmas message with a 139-118 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks.
The two star players of the Celtics shined, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown combined for 70 points, 41 of them from the forward who, so far, is the top MVP candidate in the NBA, and the other 29 from the guard who was also able to take out the best player of the Bucks, Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The “Greek Freak” had kept the game even until the fourth period, when in a screen on his blind side he impacted directly on Brown and fell to the floor, when he got up after the hard hit he was furious to push his rival and was sentenced with a technical foul. With the game sentenced in favor of Boston, Antetokounmpo was sent to the bench after scoring 27 points.
It is worth remembering that, in the last two games, Giannis has received heavy blows, as last Friday he had hurt his hand in the game against the Brooklyn Nets, his availability for this Sunday’s game was in doubt, however, the x-rays came out negative and the MVP of the 2021 NBA Finals was able to play.
What’s next for the Celtics and the Bucks?
The Bucks (22-11) lost their third game in a row for the first time this season, however, they remain with the second best record in the NBA and in the Eastern Conference, the place of honor belongs to the Celtics (24-10).
Boston’s next game will be on Tuesday, December 27 when they host the Houston Rockets, while Milwaukee will return to the court on Wednesday, December 28 when they visit the Chicago Bulls.
