Real Madrid have made just two signings this summer, but both players have featured in all three competitive games so far and are settling in well.

Antonio Rudiger, 29, arrived on a free transfer from Chelsea, while Aurelien Tchouameni, 22, joined from Monaco in a deal which could end up being worth 100 million euros.

Both players have hit the ground running for Carlo Ancelotti‘s side and are already proving to be more than useful additions to the reigning champions’ squad.

German international Rudiger offers an experienced option in defence, bolstering Los Blancos’ options. He started the game against Almeria and came on as a sub in the UEFA Super Cup and against Celta Vigo as well.

Tchouameni, meanwhile, has been rushed into a more prominent role than he could have expected so soon in his Madrid career after the sale of Casemiro to Manchester United. The France international has been impressing with his performances and has started both LaLiga Santander games so far.

The bedding-in of these new players began, of course, in pre-season, when Tchouameni was the third-most used Real Madrid player during their US tour with 161 minutes og game time, behind only Lucas Vazquez and Vinicius Junior. Rudiger, meanwhile, played 45 minutes against Barcelona and against Juventus.

Consistency at the front and back

The only two players who have played every minute of competitive action for Real Madrid this season so far are Thibaut Courtois and Karim Benzema. Ancelotti is staying faithful to the No.1 and No.9 who have served him so well in the past.

At the other end of the scale, Andriy Lunin, Jesus Vallejo, Alvaro Odriozola and Mariano Diaz have yet to feature at all. Meanwhile, Marco Asensio has played just seven minutes, all of which came in Vigo on Saturday.
